I passed the MBLEX Massage & Bodywork Licenseger

Getting through massage school was one of the most challenging experiences in my life!

I think a lot of it had to do with the many life changes I was going through at the time.  Graduation was pretty awesome and I got to celebrate it with my family and classmates.  However, the last little hump that I had to get over was finding the courage to take the MBLEX.

I am the worst test taker ever, my anxiety runs through the roof when it comes to test taking. It always has. It literally took me six months to work up the courage to take it.

I'm not going to lie, it is a hard test.

After failing the first time only by a couple of points. I left the testing center feeling completly frustraighted. I was so dissapointed that I even questioned if massage therapy was right for me. The test was so hard, and there were a lot of questions that we didn't go over in school. Feeling defeated, I took two and half months and just didn't study.

I had a lot on my plate at the time and really needed to get our life back in order. We had just moved to a new town, bought a house, and were moving everything. For a while our house was in total chaos.

After my hiatus, I hit the books pretty hard in June. I repurchased a three month subscription to Massage Prep, which had all the tools I needed.  This was seriously the best $90 I've ever spent in my entire life, it had everything! Reviews, diagrams practice and final exams.

So from June to August I studied a couple times everyday on different sections in the massage prep. The first month I was just doing the reviews to refresh myself, then I moved on to the practice exams once I got what I needed from the reviews.

I seriosuly cannot express enough on how massage prep saved me. I feel like I can finally breathe a sigh of reliefe! I'm leaving this with a question though. Because I know I need to work more on controling my fight or flight response.

How did you overcome any fears or obsticles?
